Welcome on the website of the Christmas market of Lille :

In the heart of winter, Lille sparkles and glows with joie de vivre! With the wave of a magic wand, the city takes on a festive atmosphere and welcomes you to a winter wonderland. Its Christmas market is the first to open in France each year. It is also the Christmas market which goes on for the longest amount of time. It’s a place to dream…and to do some Christmas shopping!

On Place Rihour, more than 80 chalets teem with gift ideas, nativity figurines, Christmas decorations and festive food. You can find regional specialities here, and you can also find arts and crafts from Russia, Poland, and Québec, as well as products from Native America. And that’s not to forget the gingerbread and other delicacies which you can take away or eat on the spot with a glass of mulled wine… The Christmas Market is open every day from the 18th November to 30th December (except for 25th December):

- Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 9 pm
- Saturday 5, 12 and 19 December from 11 am to 10 pm
- Thursday 24 and Wednesday 30 December from 11 am to 6 pm
- Saturday 26 December from 11h to 8 pm


Shopping

Lille is the ideal place to do your Christmas shopping! Shop windows compete to be the most original, and the 3900 shops in the city offer something to suit every taste and budget. There are luxury stores and designer boutiques in Old Lille, department stores and international chain stores in the city center, the pedestrian areas and the futuristic Euralille shopping center, whilst those looking for bargains and discounts should head to the multi-ethnic Wazemmes district. The shops are generally open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm, as well as the last 3 Sundays before Christmas, the 6, 13 and 20 December.


On the Grand Place, amidst the sumptuous decorations and as Christmas carols fill the air, the Big Wheel turns majestically. Its height of 50 metres ensures guests have a stunning view of the city! The Big Wheel turns every day from 18th November to 10th January, starting at midday and going on late into the night...
